About Twiddla
Twiddla is a real-time online collaboration tool.
Its beauty is in its simplicity and accessibility: no plug-ins or downloads,
no need to work around complex firewalls, no advanced scheduling.
It’s available 24-7 and the only requirement is a computer with an internet connection and a web browser.
It’s browser-agnostic, user friendly, and probably more fun than you're supposed to be having at work.
Our team
Benjamin Satterfield Co-founder and CEO
Ben has been building and growing internet-based companies for the past 3 years, and has been an avid user of internet technology since the early 90s. Ben studied biology and psychology with a minor in Asian Studies at Drew University, where he got his first taste of the potential for technology and the internet. He was doing his homework on online forums as early as 1994.
Ben traveled extensively throughout India (working on a research project), Yemen (working with UNESCO) and China (where he did his thesis on Traditional Chinese Medicine).
In 2001, he began his Masters in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Emperor’s College in Santa Monica, CA. It was during this degree that Ben realized that he could combine all his interests and skills into a business,
and so he founded Rootdown.us, an online hub for the Traditional Chinese Medicine community. During the process of making
Rootdown.us, Ben saw the need for an easy way to collaborate with a remote team. Working closely with one of the lead developers on Rootdown, Jason Kester, Twiddla was born.
Jason Kester Co-founder and CTO
Jason has been writing commercial software for a little over fifteen years. He travels for nine months every year and so should you.
After a few years of writing computer models as an Environmental Engineer, he chased the money for a while, hopping between a string of failing dot-coms in the fat days of the late 90's.
Eventually emerging as a consultant, he began seeking out client work that he could "offshore" to remote beaches in Thailand, where he lived several months each year and worked from a bungalow on the beach.
This evolved into an unjustifiably successful business called
Expat Software Consulting Services.
Working with one of Expat's more enlightened clients it was discovered that remote collaboration was not any fun. It didn’t need to be like that. Something needed to be done. Twiddla is the result.
Margaret Floyd General Manager
Margaret has been working with social entrepreneurs since the late 1990s. She started her career in Western Canada, working with the SAP-implementation company OmniLogic in change management and training. She switched gears in 2001 to work with small business owners and social/environmental enterprises as President of Spark Strategies, a Vancouver-based consultancy. In late 2002, she joined one of Spark’s main clients, Canadian Business for Social Responsibility (www.cbsr.ca) to lead and grow their consulting practice.
In early 2006, Margaret moved to the US where she moved her focus to coaching entrepreneurs and start-ups through their first years of business. She began working with Ben on his first project, www.rootdown.us, in June of 2006, and they have been working together ever since. Margaret takes care of the business end of Twiddla, managing finances, the team and general operations.
