Design Collaboration Tool for Distributed Teams
Allowing distributed teams, spread across the globe, to collaborate in real time was one of the main goals when we set out to build Twiddla. In the past, distributed design collaboration usually took the form of screenshots marked up with MS Paint and emailed back and forth.
Anything more formal would require the combination of at least two fundamentally flaky technologies to get up and running. You would need to set up and coordinate a conference call, and at the same time you would have to distrubute some form of collaboration software (such as WebEx or its competitors) to your entire design team, and hope that you could talk everybody through the installation process and into a shared meeting space.
It was a nightmare. Anybody that's ever been on a call like that knows that the first 30 minutes will be spent trying to configure the collaboration software before eventually scrapping it and doing without.
That's where
Twiddla
comes in. Twiddla lets you collaborate in real time via any web browser. There's nothing to install, so it's guaranteed to work first try. You get the ability to view and mark up any document that's available on the web, and you can upload design documents, images, screenshots etc. to mark up as well.
You get the same benefits as expensive and cumbersome collaboration software packages, without the squirreliness. You can have your cake and eat it too. But don't take our word for it. Try it out and see for yourself!
